Ways to Make Your Store Sign Stand Out

A catchy store sign can be a great way to let passerbys know about your store. If your store sign is eye-catching, motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians who otherwise were not looking for your store may see it and decide to stop in. However, with so many store signs, it can be hard to make your store sign stand out. My name is Michael and I am a graphic designer. While I don't make store signs for my customers yet, I do love to help them come up with unique and creative images and lettering. And one day I hope to help store signs. If you are looking for a sign for your store, I hope some of the tips I give will help you learn how to make a store sign that will stand out.

Shipping Baked Goods Without Ruining Them

Whether you're sending a care package or mailing baked goods for your business, packaging baked goods is one of the most challenging aspects of the process. You'll have to worry about whether the baked goods arrive intact or as a pile of crumbs. You'll also have to worry about whether anything contaminates your baked goods.

Time When You Prepare Your Baked Goods

First, you'll want to prepare the baked goods soon before shipping them. Then, you will want to give the baked goods time to cool before you place them in the packaging and ship them. The sooner you ship the baked goods, the less likely that they will go bad before they arrive at their destination. Therefore, you will want to time when you bake your product to coincide with when the shipping service is still open.

Send the Right Baked Goods

The best baked goods to send are those that are moist and hard. If they are brittle, the baked goods are likely to break up into small pieces. Breads, muffins and cookies are often the best baked goods to send.

Use Two Containers

You will need two separate containers for the baked goods. The first will be the container that the baked goods are placed in. The less that they move around inside the container, the less likely that they will break up. For example, if you are sending muffins, it is ideal to use a container designed specifically for muffins so they do not move around too much.

Wrap and Separate the Baked Goods

Wrapping cookies individually in plastic wrap will cause them to not move around as much. The wrap will also hold the cookies together. When shipping small pieces of candy, use wax paper to create separate layers so that the candies do not move around as much. With cake, break the cake up into slices and wrap each slice individually.

Prepare the Shipping Container

The other container will be the shipping container. This is what you will place the shipping label on. You will then place the container with the baked goods inside the shipping container. Choose a box that has not been used before because previously used boxes weaken over time and the box is more likely to break open and spill the contents.

Indicate That Your Package is Perishable

When you are mailing the product, be sure to indicate that it is perishable. That will cause the shipping company to take extra steps to protect your product. For example, they will try to avoid storing the package in a warm area that can cause your baked goods to go bad.
